2018 Birding Highlights

I have long been somewhat interested in birds. Who isn’t? However, I think it is fair to say that in 2018 I finally evolved into a fully-fledged birder. Here is a small collection of what I spotted throughout the year. All of these images are my own and were captured on my phone (albeit attached to a spotting scope). Double tap for a close-up and please feel free to leave any comments.

I am so glad to have found your Blig through you following mine. Thankyou. I used to be a birder before I got cancer and went blind. I still listen to them of course. My favourites were the ospreys, especially Lady. I often write poems about the burds, or nature in general. I love the little kingfisher, and wrote about this beautiful little bird. I just saw someoneโ€™s comment above about getting rid of so gbirds. My heart breaks. Will go and sign the petition. Thankyou for the Follow. I look forward to reading your posts. I am in North Lincolnshire.

I’m not a ‘birder’, but love to see the birds around where I walk my dog. There are Egrets and Herons, Barn Owls, and Woodpeckers.
We also have a Tawny Owl living in the oak tree in the garden, but have never actually seen it, only heard it at night. ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for following my blog, which is appreciated.
Best wishes, Pete.

I enjoyed your bird post of photos. I love birds and spend a lot of time following the ones around our home in Tasmania. We have a flock of noisy cockatoos, a family of kookaburras and several currawongs. They all talk at the same time every morning and the noise is incredible. I love to hear them all though.
